Call for Extended Abstracts Now Open for TDWG 2026
TDWG is pleased to announce that the call for extended abstracts (mini-papers) for TDWG2026 is now open, with accepted submissions to be published in Biodiversity Information Science and Standards (BISS), the open-access journal from Pensoft Publishers.
Authors whose abstracts were accepted for presentation at the conference, and who are scheduled to present (or have presented) a talk or poster with a registered presenter, are eligible to submit an extended abstract; Notably, the submitting author need not be the original presenter or first author, though whoever takes on that role should be prepared to manage reviews promptly. Find more information here.
Extended abstracts will be published free of charge as a benefit of conference registration, and the submission deadline is 9 October 2026.
Full instructions for submitting authors are available at tdwg.org/journal/abstract-submission-instructions, while session organisers and reviewers can find guidance here.
Beyond simply extending your conference presentation into a citable publication, submitting an extended abstract comes with a range of additional benefits, including a persistent, citable DOI assigned to each abstract, adding to your publishing history beyond the conference proceedings; broad discoverability, as all abstracts are automatically harvested by indexers from AGRICOLA to ZDB and more.
